 WHO ARE WE?

WHITE DRAGON MARTIAL ARTS has been serving the Lakemoor, Island Lake, Wauconda, Round Lake, Johnsburg, Spring Grove, Lake and McHenry Counties since 1999, with a Fun and Safe atmosphere for your physical fitness & nutritional needs.

 

  Our background comes from over a hundred years of Martial Arts experience.                

                                  First Level:

Coming from Korea, Grand Master Jhoon Rhee - considered the father of American Tae Kwon Do  Jhoon Rhee brought TKD to the United States in 1957, where he taught at the University of Tulsa Oklahoma. He then moved to Washington D.C., where he has been teaching the Senate and Congress for over 40 years. He has also gone to Russia and China to open one of the largest schools in the world. He also worked with his good friend, Bruce Lee, and taught "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali how to be a better puncher for boxing. 

 

                             Second Level:

MASTER STEPHEN OLIVER Eighth Degree Black Belt. Master Oliver is one of Jhoon Rhee's student's in Washington D.C. He has been teaching over 25 years, and has been running many very successful schools in Denver Co. and all over the US. since 1984. .

  OUR HISTORY  

  WHITE DRAGON MARTIAL ARTS opened its doors on January 15th 1999.

 

Master Chief Instructor, Mark McCumber came from Denver, Colorado, where he taught for Master Oliver for 12 years. Mr. McCumber has been in the Fitness and Martial Arts fields for over 25 years. While working in Denver, he learned his teaching technique by attending numerous Motivational Seminars, including Anthony Robbins "Unleash the Power from Within", Zig Ziglar's "See You at the Top",  Denis Waitley's "9 Qualities to Total Winner", Dr. Terrance Webster Doyle's "How to Deal With Bullies" and Tom Callos with his top children's curriculum, among others. 

 

  Mr. McCumber also received hands-on training from World Forms Champions, John Chung and Charlie Lee, World Full Contact Champions, the "D.C. Bomber" Jeff Smith. These Black Belts are all G.M Jhoon Rhee's Students. "The Golden Boy" Joe Lewis, Bill "Super Foot" Wallace, and Dan Magnus. He also trained Forms and Sparring Champion, Michelle Evans.

                                                

Having had the top children's programs in Denver, we have brought this program to the Lakemoor, Island Lake, Wauconda, Fox Lake, Round Lake, Johnsburg, Wonder Lake and McHenry area.
