 Master Mark McCumber - 5th Degree Black Belt. Master McCumber was one of Master Stephen Oliver's students in Denver Co. He has been teaching over 20 years, and has been running a  successful school in the Lake & McHenry Area, since 1999.             

   In 1989 he first started training and working at Stephen Oliver's Mile High Karate Headquarters in Littleton Co. Grand Master Jhoon Rhee, John Chung, Steve Anderson, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Dan Magnus  Jeff Smith, Dave Kovar and others would come out to Denver & train all of the Instructors & Black Belts.

                                                                                                                                                In1993, Mark McCumber tested for his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do with Master Stephen Oliver and the entire Mile High Karate Staff. Master Black Belts from around the nation (which included Charlie Lee, John Chung, Jeff Smith, Keith Hafner, Fred Degerberg and many other well-know martial arts celebrities were in attendance).

  He then left in 1994 after an injury, to pursue a Personal Body Guard position.        Mark McCumber has worked for Ann & Nancy Wilson of HEART. Carlos Santana, The Back Street Boys, and was part of a Security Detail for the 49ers Football team and also for Chuck Norris.

  Mark McCumber came back to Mile High Karate, to pursue his career in teaching again in 1995. The School he taught at was in Aurora Co. Where he had some of the best Black Belts an instructor could have. One of Mr. McCumber's star students was Michelle Evans. She was an Undefeated Forms & Point Fighter Champion from age 9-15.

Now Master McCumber brings his knowledge & expertise to Lakemoor IL.

   Mr. McCumber is the trainer for Katy Perez, Who won the W.A.K.O. Kick International U.S.A. Kickboxing Championship for the 130lb. Weight Division.                    On May 24th Katy became the U.S.K.O. State Champion.

 Master Mark McCumber was inducted into the USA Martial Arts "Hall Fame"          April 12th 2008
